Did you know you can earn a state tax credit while helping more children attend St. Philip the Apostle School?
Under the Invest in Kids Act, which Illinois enacted in August 2017, individuals and businesses can donate money to a Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO) and receive credit on their state income tax return. St. Philip the Apostle School uses the SGO Empower Illinois, which then distributes the donations as scholarships to qualifying students who wish to attend St. Philip the Apostle School and other nonpublic schools.
Under this program, individuals and businesses can receive a 75% credit on their donation. This means that if you donate $1,000, you will receive a credit of $750. If you donate $10,000, you will receive a credit of $7,500.
